Clair Obscur Sweeps at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and in a stunning performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the top winner. The surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with accolades for Superb Storytelling and Excellence in Visuals.
Adding to the studio's triumph, the gifted performers also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English won Top Lead Actor for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Best Supporting Performer for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Studio of the Year. In total, Clair Obscur and its makers collected 7 awards throughout the ceremony.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only four awards—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Hall of Fame, and Streamer Selection—determined by experts.
