Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding claims about conduct deemed unsuitable towards young women.

The firm declined to specify the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies globally in five dozen languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, which features a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
